It is necessary to sign up for an account in order to access Flickr; this is not as user friendly a procedure as simply logging in to You Tube.
As I have neither a cell phone nor a camera, I have little use for a site to assist in the editing of photographs. I may have occasion to view photos of certain subject material but I doubt that Flickr would be the place I would choose to do this.
You Tube, on the other hand, is easily accessed and provides a great variety of subject material on video; Susan Boyle's performance on Britain's Got Talent is wonderful and there are videos on cooking, animation, automobiles, fitness workouts and on virtually any subject that comes to mind.
I prefer You Tube to Flickr and find it vastly superior in entertainment value and usefulness. Individuals who enjoy photography would, perhaps, like Flickr better but it seems to me that the choice between the two products would be heavily influenced by personal interests.
